Why weekend Bonfire Night events sell out
Thursday night displays are hard for families after school and work. Saturday events get the crowd. If you are planning Bonfire Night 2026 now, lock a proper event rather than hoping a local park still has space on the night.
Abingdon has slashed capacity for 2026. Tickets are limited. Register for priority access and 10% off general release.
The Abingdon Bonfire Night plan
Arrive from 2:00pm. Ride the fairground while tickets are £2. Eat on site. Watch the kids singalong fireworks at 6:00pm if you have younger children. The main 270° show is 7:30pm. The bonfire is lit after the fireworks, at 8:15pm, in the centre of the crowd, not tucked away at the edge.
Aim to be on site by 5:30pm at the latest. Late arrivals sit in traffic and can miss the main display.
Family Bonfire Night
Infants under 3 are free. Child tickets cover ages 3-15. Family passes are 2 adults + 2 children. There is a dedicated earlier fireworks show for kids, then the full main display. Dogs are not allowed, including assistance dogs, because of the pyrotechnic noise levels.
